Blocking, reporting and following up on a dating app
Choose the right action, prepare a factual report and keep a separate plan for unwanted contact outside the platform.
Blocking and reporting are often placed near each other, but they have different jobs. Blocking is about stopping or limiting interaction through the product. Reporting gives the platform information to assess possible misconduct.
You may want either action or both. You do not need to keep a conversation open to collect more evidence, and you should not wait for a moderation reply if you need immediate assistance.
Choose the action that matches the problem
For an ordinary lack of interest, ending the conversation or blocking may be enough. A report is more appropriate for behaviour such as threats, impersonation, suspected fraud, harassment or unwanted sexual content.
A report should describe an event, not ask the platform to punish someone for declining a date. Someone being uninterested is different from repeatedly contacting you after you have asked them to stop.
If you feel unsafe, you can skip a final message. You do not owe a person advance notice that you are using a safety control.
Prepare a report that another person can understand
Include the visible profile identifier, where the interaction occurred, approximate dates and the specific conduct. Quote only the relevant messages or provide screenshots through the official reporting route if supported.
A hypothetical useful report might say: “This account asked for a transfer on Tuesday, said it was needed before we could meet, and continued asking after I declined. The attached messages show the request.” That is clearer than a long description of what you believe the person's personality or motives are.
Separate what you observed from what you suspect. You can say “I suspect impersonation because this photo also appears under a different name” without asserting that you have established someone's identity.
Use PairNova's controls, and keep a fallback
PairNova includes blocking and reporting actions in its signed-in experience. The exact presentation can vary between the website and app versions. Look in the profile or conversation action menu rather than sending a report as a normal message to the person.
If the control is missing, does not respond or returns an error, contact PairNova support at admin@pairnova.in. Include the device or browser, time of the failure and the relevant account or profile reference. Never include your password, login code or payment credentials.
The platform cannot assess a report that was never submitted. Keep a note of any confirmation or reference you receive. Do not assume that closing a dialog after an error means the report succeeded.
Understand what happens outside the app
A platform block is not a universal block on phone calls, social accounts or future attempts through another service. If you previously shared contact information, review those channels' own controls.
Do not continue arguing on another platform to explain the block. If contact persists, keep a factual record and consider the appropriate official assistance. Reporting within a dating app does not replace reporting threats or financial loss to the relevant authorities.
If you face immediate danger, use local emergency services or trusted help available to you. PairNova support is not an emergency response service.
Follow up without creating more exposure
If a problem continues, send a concise follow-up with new facts and the original reference, if available. Repeating the same report many times can make a sequence harder to follow; a dated update is more useful.
Avoid publishing a person's profile to invite retaliation. Do not ask friends to confront them or create another account to monitor them. These actions can involve uninvolved people and increase unwanted contact.
A platform may not be able to disclose another user's moderation outcome. Lack of a detailed account of that outcome is not, by itself, evidence that nothing was assessed. At the same time, do not assume an account has been removed unless the platform actually tells you so.
Keep your own next step separate
After reporting, decide what you need independently: a break from the app, privacy-setting changes, support from someone you trust or help from an official channel. You should not have to keep checking the reported profile to feel that you are participating in the process.
The Community Guidelines describe PairNova's conduct expectations. Your immediate boundary and the platform's review are related, but they are not the same decision. You can stop contact while a report is being assessed.
